I originally created this video series for my Mom and Aunt who always needed my help making videos for their businesses. When Covid hit much of their business had to transition to an online presence which was especially hard for my Aunt who is a yoga instructor. I didn't have time to edit every single video for her or my mom so I began teaching them how to use iMovie over the phone. After a few sessions, I realized I could teach them more effectively by making videos that they could visually follow along rather than me sitting on the phone doing my best to explain what buttons to click. So I created some videos that walked them through how to create videos from start to finish. They found my teaching style through videos to be highly effective. The videos allowed them to learn at their own pace because they could pause and play the video as if I was sitting next to them showing them how to do different things in iMovie. Soon after, their friends began asking them how they were making these videos and I was eventually convinced to create MyTechTeacher.com where I plan to expand to other video course series as well.
